IN CAB ACCIDENTS Leg Fractures Suffered Similarly by 7-Year-Old and 5-Year-Old. Two small girls suffered leg frac tures when run down by automobiles near home yesterday. Helen Boswell, 7, of 510 Maine ave nue southwest, was struck while cross ing the 100 block of Sixth street southwest. She was taken to Provi dence Hospital. The driver of the car was Joseph Guy White, 49, of 1427 K itreet southeast. While playing in front of her home at 1211 W street, five-year-old Jean Lowe, colored, was knocked down by a car driven by Albert Washington, 22, colored, of 2224 Thirteenth street. She Was taken to Children’s Hospital. Ernest Williams, 18, colored, 1911 Gales st. n.e., was injured when he fell beneath the wheels as he report edly tried to jump on to a moving truck. The youth was taken to Gal lenger Hospital where doctors said he may have a brain concussion and in ternal injuries. George A. Robey, 25, of Friendly Md., and his 3-year-old daughter, Barbara, were taken to Providence Hospital last night for injuries re ceived in an accident near their home. The girl is only slightly injured, but it is believed the father is suffering from Internal injuries. »■ ■ " ■ m - - . MEXICAN HIGHWAY FETE THIS WEEK Charles M. Upham and Officials of Two Nations to Take Part. Responding to a special Invitation from the Republic of Mexico, Charles M. Upham, engineer-director of the American Road Builders’ Association, is en route to Laredo, Mex., to par ticipate in the international program, Wednesday to Saturday, that will mark the open ing of the Lar edo-Mexico City Highway. High officials of both the Amer ican and Mexi can Governments will attend the celebration dedi cating one of the major links of the Pan Ameri can highway, de signed to connect ... , „ . North, Central Charles tpham. . _ . and South Amer ica. The four-day program will open on the International Bridge, connect ing Laredo, Texas, and Nuevo Laredo, Mex. The highway extends 770 miles from the Rio Grande to the Capital City and is part of the vast highway sys tem laid out for Mexico by Upham during the five years he served as consulting engineer to the republic, beginning in 1925. He continues to aerve Mexico as engineering consultant on highway affairs. The officials delegation from Mex ico City will meet the American dele gation on the International Bridge where a brief ceremony will be held. The combined groups will then go to Monterrey. Murray Kraft. 31, of 1614 Seven teen street, collector for a clothing store in the 700 block of H street northeast, told police last night he was robbed of $40 while walking on Fenton place near North Capitol street.
