Continuance of the General Motor strike put a dent or two in some auto motive issues, but most reduced t canceled losses in the afternoon. Coppers and specialties executed r early upswing, and were followed late by cuch aircrafts as Douglas, Boeinp United, North American Aviation am Aviation Corp. Sugars were also given a play. There were a number of soft spots in evidence near the final hour, however. The trading volume expanded suf ficiently at times to put the ticket tape behind. There were also slow in tervals. Transfers approximated 2 700,000 shares. NEW YORK COTTON By the Associated Press. NEW YORK. Talk was heard also that Italian reselling of wheat was confined to nearby deliveries and was more than offset by purchases of distant months.
