Among the guests were Senator King, chairman of the Senate Dis trict Committee, and Mrs. King; Com missioner and Mrs. Melvin C. Hazen, j president Edgar Morris of the Board 01 Trade and Mrs. Morris and prom inent leaders in the local real estate 0eld. The ball room was decorated In 0t. Valentine's day style. The dance was preceded by special tntertainment. In addition to a large amount of professional talent, a num ber of well-known real estate men per formed. Samuel S. Spruce served as master of ceremonies. There was the “Realtor’s Trio,” composed of William j C. Miller, Raymond Taylor and De Vere Weedon. Edward R. WILL GIVE HOUR WORKERS VACATION 85 Local Employes to Be Given ' Time Off With Pay Under Newly Drawn Program. An expansion of the vacation pro gram for hourly paid employes of the Swift & Co.’s Washington plant who have a minimum of two years’ service was announced yesterday by A. H. Thompson, manager. Approximately 85 local employes will be affected and will draw vacation pay. The plan goes into effect imme diately. Workers with two years or more of continuous service will re ceive one week's vacation with pay. Those who have five years get two weeks. A three weeks’ vacation goes | to women with 15 year*' steady em I ployment and to men with 20 year*’ service.
