SETTLEMENT ON BAN
BY S. E. C. IS SEEN
National Invested Savings Corp.
Expected to Change Registra
tion Statement.
Officials of the National Invested
Savings Corp. said today they ex
pected a settlement of the difflcul
tie* which led the Securities and Ex
change Commission yesterday to sus
pend the registration of their stock
issues.
The president of the company,
which has offices in the Union Trust
Building, is James E. Watson, former
Senator from Indiana.
The commission’s stop order was
based on the allegedly improper use
in the registration statement of the
names of prominent persons in an
effort to sell the stock to the public.
Watson said he was advised changes
could be made in the registration
statement to satisfy the commission.

TRANSFER TO ARCHIVES
OF SENATE DATA ASKED
Records From 1789 Would Be
Cared for There if Resolution
Is Adopted.
Historic records of Senate pro
ceedings dating back to 1789 would
be transferred to the Archives Build
ing for preservation if a resolution
introduced yesterday • afternoon by
Senator Barkley, Democrat, of Ken
tucky passes. It was referred to the
Library Committee, of which Barkley j
is chairman.
These old documents,, which es
caped the fire when the British
burned the Capitol in 1814, contain
the story of the gradual development
of the Government from Its begin
ning.
It is probable that all records ex
cept those required for current busi

ties for preserving documents are

THRIVES ON VEGETABLES
20-Year-Old Cat Still Able to
Figtft Off Dogs.
WAIT8BURG, Wash. (*>). —Al
though 20 years old, Laddie, a Persian
cat, is still able to fight off dogs,
boss other cats and catch an occa
sional gopher or mole. E. L. Wheeler,
his owner, says it may all be the
result of Laddie's vegetable diet.
For breakfast the cat eats a salad,
preferably with lots of mayonnaise;
for lunch a cantaloupe or other fruit;
for dinner assorted vegetables. He’ll
choose a turnip any time in prefer
ence to meat.
