Announcement Sent to Mayor
Cherry Fete Is Prepared.
A cablegram sent by the District
Commissioners to Torataro Ushizuka,
Mayor of Tokio, informed the Jap
anese capital that Washington was
preparing to celebrate cherry blos
som week April 4 to 11, "commem
orating budding of the trees received
from your people.”
The message, wishing the Tokio
Mayor and his people "every happi
ness," informed them also that Miss
Saklka Salto, daughter of the Jap
aneae Ambassador, would be crowned
queen. It was signed by all three
Commissioners.
