‘MENACE’ IS GIN AS SERMON TOPIC Rev. Howard Stone Ander son Will Preach at First Congregational. “The Menace of Religion” will be the topic of the Rev. Howard Stone Anderson'* sermon at 11 am. to morrow at the First Congregations Churrh. The evening service will feature gospel song singing fron* the screen * a question box and a brief address "Can We Recognize Goodness?" The questions Mr. Anderson will discuss are: Is travel by air as safe • s other transportation? What makes people, young or elderly, critical? In what sense are "Elohim." "Yahweh,” "Lord” and "Eternal" names for God? Is present-day preaching too theological or too prac tical? Are modern American funerals entirely Christian? The Tuxis Club, newly formed high . fchool and college society, meets at 6 3d pm. Orville Greenwood, leader, will discuss "Student Traffic Clubs." The Young People's Society also will meet at 6:30. Roger Kimball will lead discussion of "What's the Use?" The Rev. Frank Johnston of Cal vary Baptist Churrh will address the staff of the church school Monday night. A meeting of the Board of Religious Education will follow. The Young Women's Club meets for din ner and program at 6 pm. Tuesday. Prayer meeting will be held Thursday following dinner at 6 pm. E Church South for another year. He will speak tomorrow at 8 p.m. on "Greatness According to Jesus." There will be a call meeting of the Board of Stewards Tuesday at 8 p.m. The speaker at the prayer service Thursday will be Rev. Mr. Shirkey. Rev. Abernethy, who is speaking to the boys at Mereersburg Academy, Mereersburg. Pa., at their morning service. Mr. Johnston's topic will be 'Things That Abide.''
