Women Will Shave Husbands In Contest at D. C. Food Show Mrs. Harry Goodman, 219 Upshur street N.W., yesterday lathered her husband’s jace and obtained a "razor* the size she would like to use on him. OMEN who have laughed at their husbands’ antics be fore a shaving mirror will be given an opportunity to try their own hand at shaving them ' during the course of the District Gro eery Stores, Inc., tenth annual food show which will begin tomorrow night and run throughout next Saturday. f A shaving contest, with women ahaving their husbands, beaux or any man willing to submit to the ordeal, will be held as a feature event on one of the evenings of the show, which ' will be in an exhibit hall in the 3600 block of Connecticut avenue N.W. Any woman will be allowed to use either a straight or safety razor, ac cording to her own choice, although the man to be shaved is expected to have something to say about the kind of razor. The winner of the contest is to be judged through the time taken to complete the shave and its thor oughness. The opening show, to start at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, will be featured by a ''barnyard contest” on the stage in one end of the large exhibit hall. The contest is to be open to all show patrons who may imitate any barn yard animal or fowl. The one doing the best imitation, to be judged by the volume of applause from the audi ence, will be given a special award. Besides the awards to the winners of a special contest each night of the show, 12 awards, including an auto mobile, will be given away during the course of the six-day affair. Beginning Tuesday, matinees will be held each day from 2 to 5 pm., to be featured by a baby show each aft | emoon. Santa Claus will be on hand at the matinees to distribute gifts to | all children under 6 years of age. j Hundreds of gifts of food are to be presented show patrons. CITY NEWS IN BRIEF TODAY.
