RELIGIOUS PERSON Dr. Clinchy to Deliver Third % in Meaning of Religion Series. "What, Is a Religious Person?-’ is the subject of Dr. Russell J. Clinchy, minister of the Mount Pleasant Con gregational Church, tomorrow morn ing. This is the third sermon in a series "Tne Meaning of Religion." Dr. Ella Oppem.elmer will tell of #ie work of the Bureau of Maternal and Child Welfare, of which she is director, at the Adult Discussion Group at 10 a m. The forum will join the high school Congregational young people of Wash ington at a meeting at Lincoln Temple at 6 p.m. James Myers of the Fed eral Council of Churches will speak on "The Co-operative World." The Discussion Group for college age young people will meet at 6 o'clock, after i’hich Robert Gries will review the book by David Cushman Coyle, "Brass Tacks." "The Influence of the Bible on Mod ern Religion" is the subject of the Sunday Evening Club under the lead ership of Dr. D. Butler Pratt, at 7:30 "Agricultural Problems and the Government: Tariffs and Other Trade Barriers” will be the topic of the third of four panel and open forum discus sions which the Brotherhood of Serv ice will sponsor at its suppler Thurs day. Miss Charlotte Lanhardt continued as recording secretary. Miss Hazel Kernan was made corresponding secretary; Ken neth Kelly,- treasurer; Harry Hood, sergeant at arms, and the Rev. Rock Creek Fellowship recaptured the silver loving cup in the diocesan play contest awarded for their presen tation of "A Busy Honeymoon.” They were winners of the cup in 1934, 1935 and 1936. Father Fenn of Baltimore will con duct a mission at St. Paul's. Washing ton circle, Wednesday evening. The program will begin at 6 o'clock. At Albright Memorial Evangelical Church tomorrow morning there will be a service of installation and con secration for newly elected and ap pointed church and Sunday school officers, as well as for others in offi cial position. The Rev. George E. Schnabel will preach gn “For Their Sakes ." At 3 p m. official groups and com mittees will meet to organize for the work of the new church year. The trustees will meet first at 3 and at 20-minute intervals successive groups and committees will go into session until 5 o'clock, at which time there will be a general meeting of the entire church officiary. McCartney, minister of the Covenant-First Presbyterian Church, will continue tomorrow morn ing his series of sermons on the Ten Commandments, under the gen eral theme, “Ancient Laws and Mod ern Morals.” His topic tomorrow will deal with the Second Command ment. Dr. John F. B. Carruthers, recently from Pasadena, Calif., will assist in the services. The Society of the Covenant on Wednesday at 11 o’clock will have the Rev. Howard D. Hannaford of Tokio, Japan, as guest speaker. His subject will be "Picturing Japanese People and Places.” The young people’s societies will have a supper and social from A to 7 o'clock Sunday, followed by various group meetings. David Stanley will lead the Covenant Fellowship in the discussion of "Forward Through the Ages,” and the Intermediate Society will be led by Bryan Ogden, jr„ with a Lincoln Day theme "Making the Most of Our Opportunities." —---• Revival Service*.
