March 25—Stock* ' crashed through support levels in to day's market, many tumbling to new lows for the past three years or longer, with losses running to 5 or more points. Blame for the relapse was placed on a combination of circumstance* in cluding fears of fresh troubles in i France, doubts over business prospect* for the near term and general dis l couragement of stockholders over re cent ineffectual attempts at rallies. There were occasional moderately ! cheering news items, but these, jt, was said, couid not overwejgh the gloom ! which has again descended upon speculative and investment circles. Prices were somewhat lower at the , opening and the list jogged along in about a point range until shortly after noon when selling in steel* touched off a sharp downturn in other industrial groups. aRils and utilities were more resistant than most, but even these followed the trend. Volume picked up on the barkswing and the ticker tape was behind near the close. Transfers approximated 1.400.000 shares. Many stop-loss orders were caught on the retreat and these added to ihe feeble appearance of numerou* issues. Forced dumping of margin account* was said to have been a factor, a num ber of the.se having become vulnerable because of the lengthy reaction. Sentiment was aided a bit by further - slashes in tne House tax revision bill made by the Senate Finance Commit tee. hut while this was pleasing 1 o Wall Street, it. was realized the revenue measure has a long way to go before becoming the kind of iaw the finan cial district desires. —. • - - CHICAGO GRAIN By be Associated Press CHICAGO.
