Bt the A*s< fisted Press.
MOUNT MORRIS. Mich . April 21 —
Union pickets, who retreated yester
day before the threatening advance of
100 school pupils protesting a strike
which has delayed a P. W A. school
building project, returned to their
posts this morning—after the school
bell had summoned the pupils to their
classes.
Rupert Malloch. 17-vear-old football
player and president of the high school
senior class, said We can't see why
• they should strike against the Gov
ernment, which is what we figure the
P. W. A. is." The students indicated
that they would harrass the pickets at
every opportunity.
School Supt. E. L. Clark asked the
students at an assembly today to re
frain from demonstrations and ex
plained "The difficulty is between the
union and the contractor.”
Three pickets appeared today, rep
i resenting the Flint and Genesee

American Federation of Labor affiliate,
which called a strike on a *66,000
school addition on the grounds that
wages below the prevailing rate for
skilled labor were being paid Seven
unionists were ordered from the scene
by students yesterday.
