Visitors Add to Interest Of Nearby Social Activity Guest of Mr. and Mrs. Enyart Extensively Entertained; Mr. and Mrs. Campbell Hosts The unusual number of visitors in the Bethesda community this week has given an added interest to the many small parties that are scheduled here during the week end. Mrs. Charles Dickerman of Duluth, MinnJ who is the guest of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William R. Enyart, in Westmore land Hills, was honor guest at a luncheon Friday given by Mrs. R. L. Southwick in Georgetown. Mrs. Dickerman, w'ho has been extensively entertained during her stay here, was also a guest at a bridge luncheon given by Mrs. George Wetherill of Westmoreland Hills on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Campbell entertained some of their neighbors in Greenwich Forest last evening at one of the informal parties that are so popular in this section. The evening*! was spent at cards and games. Mrs. John W. Mann was hostess at one of the largest parties of the week Wednesday. Mrs. Mann's guests were Mrs. George B. Clendenin, Mrs. Percy H. Royster, Mrs, Eugene E. Stevens, Mrs. Myron B. Stevens, Mrs. Wil liam H. Swanger, Mrs. Victor Bihl, Mrs. James Martin, Mrs. Paul Ryon, Mrs. E. H. Hartnett, Mrs. Nathan W. Robertson, Mrs. Donald F. Rob erts and Mrs. George Myers. Mrs. Elisha Hanson Has Week End Guest. Mrs. Elisha Hanson of Alta Vista has Mrs. Charles Clinard of Salis bury, Md, as her guest over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Willis of Westmoreland Hills have with them Mrs. Willis’ mother, Mrs. J. F. Hager of Charleston, W. Va, and her brother, Dr. James L. Hager of New York City. Mrs. Hager came from Charleston for a week’s visit with her son-in-law and daughter, and Dr. Hager, who is a prominent physician in New York, came Fri day to spend the week end with his mother and sister. Mr. and Mrs. Dan I. McKeithen have as their guests Dr. Phillip B. Price and Mrs. Price and their daughter, Mary Price of Tsinan, China, who came to Battery Park Friday for a short stay. Dr. Price, who is on furlough from his work on the medical staff of Cheeloo University in Tsinan, came here for a number of speaking en gagements in nearby Maryland and Virginia. He and Mr. McKeithen were classmates at Davidson Col lege, Davidson, N. C, and during Dr. Price's stay in this section he and Mrs. Price will be guests of Mr. and Mrs. McKeithen. Mr. William Gail Harveycutter of Balem, Va, who was the guest of his cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lake Harveycutter, in Bradley Hills early In the week has returned home. Mrs. MacMullan and Son Go to Florida. Mrs. Mary McMullan and her son, Mr. Charles Francis MacMullan of Boonesboro, Md.. who were spend ing the winter with Mr. and Mrs. B. Peyton Whalen in Alta Vista, left Friday for Jacksonville, Fla, to stay until the middle of February. Mrs. Evan Condon of Bethesda has also gone to Florida to stay until the early spring. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Stokes, who were in Fort Myers, Fla, during the early part of January, have re turned to their home in Greenwich Forest. From Fort Myers also comes word that Mr. and Mrs. J. Henry Brown of Alta Vista, who went last fall to the winter home that they have had there for several years, expect to remain in the South until about Easter. Mrs. Brown’s mother, Mrs. Flor ence Frazier, who was with her son in-law and daughter for two months, has returned to her home in Wash ington, and Miss Helen Brown, who was with her father and mother earl ier in the month. Is back again at Providence Hospital, where she is taking a nurses’ training course. Miss Alice Powick of Drummond, who is a student at Hood College, Frederick, Md, will spend next week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer C. Uglow and Mrs. Uglow Entertain MANASSAS, Va., Jan. 2» —Capt. and Mrs. Kenneth Uglow entertained at a dinner party at their home near Wellington, in observance of Capt. Uglow's birthday anniversary. The guests included Dr. and Mrs. H. E. Pickerel, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Lynn, Mr. Bert La Montagne, Mr. E. R. Conner, Misses June and Faynelle Pickerel, Mrs. Betty Leachman, Mrs. Ayleene Guthrie of Manassas, and Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Gothwaite of Fairfax. Mrs. R. Jackson Ratcliffe will be hostess to the members of the Junior Bridge Club Monday afternoon. A card party, sponsored by the Catholic Woman’s Club, will be held Tuesday evening at the Prince Wil liam Hotel. The chairman of ticket sales is Mrs. Mary Pope. Mr. and Mrs. George W. Herring of Featherstone Farm, accompanied by a party of friends from Wood bridge and Washington, have gone on a trip to Florida and Cuba. They expect to be away several weeks. Staunton Society Informed of Engagement STAUNTON, Va.. Jan 28.—Capt. and Mrs. Carl Dana Hift of Berkeley Place announce the engagement of their daughter. Elizabeth Harman, to Mr. Gilbert Wallace Tuck of Round Lake, N. Y. The wedding date has not yet been set. Miss Hill is a pre-medical student at George Washington University, In Washington. She is spending the week-end here with her parents. Mr. Tuck is a member of the faculty of Staunton Military Acad emy, teaching modern languages. Mr. Samuel B. Wright, who has been visiting friends in Washington, has returned to his home here. Mrs. Watson P.
