Dr. 0. F. Blaekwelder Returns to Pulpit; Topics Announced Schedule of Week At Lutheran Church Of the Reformation At the Lutheran Church of the Reformation tomorrow the pastor, Dr. Oscar F. Blaekwelder, returns to his pulpit. He will preach at 11 am. on “Trying to Preach in a World Like This.” At 8 p.m. his subject is “The Ministry of Recon ciliation.” The Senior Choir, under the direction of Miss Mary Weidley, Is in charge of the musical program for both of these services. At 8:30 am. the Rev. Ralph W. Loew, assistant pastor, will speak on “The Fellowship of the Hope ful.” The Matin Children's Choir Will sing. At 6:45 p.m. the Luther Leagues Will meet, with Dwight Doty, presi dent of the Round Table League, speaking on the subject of “Stay at-Home Christians.” Miss Lela Angleberger is in charge of the de votional program. In the Young People's League Robert E. Lee will speak on "The Contribution of Edu cation to Human Happiness.” Miss Catherine Le Roy will lead the de votional service. The Senior League will have as the speaker the Rev. Mr. Loew; subject, "The Challenge for Leadership.” Bruce Hulett is the devotional leader. On Tuesday evening the Wom ens Missionary Society's Evening Circle will meet. Mrs. Merle Cain will present the program and Miss Lela Angleberger will conduct the devotional service. At 8 o'clock the Church Council will meet. The L. W. Slater Bible Class will meet at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. The same day the Ladies’ Aid Society will serve luncheon from 12 to 2 p.m. This will be followed by a meeting. Metropolitan Presbyterian Home-Coming Tomorrow “Home-Coming Day" will be ob served tomorrow at Metropolitan Presbyterian Church, when the Rev. Dr. J. Lowrey Fendrich, jr., who has been on a vacation, will preach. At 11 a.m. the Lord's supper will be observed. There will be a reception of new members and baptismal serv ice. Dr. Fendrich’s topic is "Dare We Take Jesus Seriously?” The evening services will be re turned at 7:45 o’clock. The sermon topic is "Washington, City of Spirit ual Slums,” first of a series entitled “The Soul of Washington.” The Christian Endeavor Societies will resume meetings at 6:45 p.m. Prayer meetings will be resumed Thursday at 8 p.m. when Dr. Fen drich will preach on “Nothing Suc ceeds Like Success,” the first in a series on “Present Day Delusions.” Emory Methodist Church Services The Rev. Horace E. Cromer will preach at 11 ajn. and 8 p.m. at the Emory Methodist Church tomorrow. The choir, under the direction of C. Wilfred Smith, will sing. Mrs. Ger trude Dyre Parsons will be at the organ. The three leagues will meet in a combined service at 7 p.m. The Board of Christian Education will meet Monday in the parish house. The junior choir will have a picnic on Tuesday afternoon on the church grounds. Circle No. 1 of the Woman’s Mis sionary Society will meet Wednes day. Universalist Memorial. Regular services of worship will be resumed Sunday at 11 a.m. Dr. Seth Rogers Brooks will preach on “A Pilgrimage.” The choir, under the direction of Miss Jessie Masters, Will render the ministry of music. Self-Realization. Brahmachari Jotin of Calcutta. India, will speak at the morning service on the “Civil War in Europe.” The public class in philosophy and yoga will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m. Open Door Church. On Sunday morning the pastor’s subject will be "The World's Blood Poison,” and on Sunday evening a gospel message. Dr. Arthur O. HJelm will preach on "Why Are We Chris tians?” The Woman's Mission Society has invited the congregation to take part in an out-of-door meeting to morrow afternoon and evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Franzen, Midvale avenue, Kensing ton Heights.
