The Inside Story of ENDICOTT-JOHNSON In one of the strangest demon strations in modern industrial rela tions, the employes of the Endicott Johnson Company voted under N. L. R. B. supervision five to one against the combined vote of the A. F. of L. and the C. I. 0. A *50,000,000 Home for Defense In another of the authoritative articles by Joseph S. Edger ton on the future plans for Washington, there is revealed in detail the program for development of the Federal quadrangle which is to extend from the base of the present triangle all the way to the Potomac River. In this huge area, apartment houses and other buildings are to give way to new and greater office buildings to house various branches of the Government’s activities. Close by where once it was said that the Lincoln Memorial would shake with ague and loneliness in the swamp where it was erected, the huge group of buildings to house the War and Navy Departments is to be erected. The principal aim was to speed cases in the lower courts—to make it possible for litigants to have their day in court without the long delays which have at times over-taxed the resources of those less well-fixed financially. Henry P. Chandler, recently named administrative officer of the United States Courts, takes over duties which will tend to reach the goal set by the President. You will want to read an article in The Editorial Section of The Sunday Star by Joseph A. Fox on this subject. It will acquaint you with what is being done to streamline justice to conform with this streamline age.
