The extraordinary honors to be accorded the distinguished officer, who died Friday night after a long illness, will include an escort of high-ranking naval officers led by Rear Admiral Leigh Loyes. The services will be held in the Fort Myer (Va.) Chapel beginning at 11 am. The Navy Band arid a regiment of marines will be included in the escort. Eight bluejackets will be pall bearers. Admiral Rodman, who was 81, died in Naval Hospital pf a heart ailment. A veteran of two wars, he had been decorated by many foreign countries and wore the Distinguished Service Medal of this Nation. He was a native of Frankfort, Ky. Mother in Baby Suit Sues for Divorce By the Associated Press. * LOS ANGELES. June 8—Mrs. Frances Mahoney, who recently was awarded $4,300 from a hospital in a baby mixup suit, sued Paul Ma- j honey for divorce today, alleging mental cruelty. Her attorney, S. S. Hahn, said he was prepared to prove the uncertainty over whether the Mahoneys had been given the right baby at the hospital had broken up their home. Municipal Center The District’s new Municipal Cen ter not only will be air conditioned and have more space for the city's governmental agencies, but the walls of the new plant will be decorated with prize-winning murals depict ing the history or services of the municipal government, it was an nounced yesterday at the District Building. The Commissioners prepared to award contracts to winners of con tests for two mural projects, one concerned with health and welfare activities of the District, and an other with police, fire and traffic .activities, both of which will be placed in the corridors of an in terior section of the East Building of the Municipal Center. The award In each case will be for $12,500. The east building is being erected under financing through the Public Works Admin istration and the mural decorations are subject to final approval by the Fine Arts Commission. It was reported yesterday at the District Building that Miss Hildreth Meiers of New York City is the winner of the mural contest on health and welfare activities and that Waylands Gregory of Bound Brook, N. J., has the winning mural on police, fire and traffic. The murals, as installed, will measure 78 by 8 feet, it was said, and will be installed in pieces of one-foot squaies of tile block. of the Y. Confederate Veteran, 100, Dies in Huntington By the Associated Press. HUNTINGTON. W. Va.. June 8 — John W. Haywood, who during his 100 years had been a soldier, circus rider, strong man and juggler, died today after a short illness. The Confederate veteran observed his 100th birthday anniversary on March 29. Mr. Haywood, a native of Lee County, Va., came to Huntington in 1915, after living in Mount Sterling.
