SOUTH COLBY, Wash., June 15. —"Conchita, the California favor ite” who once was the toast of the gold camps, will be buried to morrow beside her husband, J. Leo Shaw, "the original man on the flying trapeze.” Conchita—Maria de la Concep cion Conchita Seraflna Bacigalupi Shaw—died Thursday at the age of 79 far from the footlighted fame of her early-day vaudeville troup ing career. Her husband, as "Munis Leo,” was a famous circus acrobat when he met 16-year-old Conchita while playing Madison Square Garden in New York. They married and be gan trouping together, climaxing their career by being featured on the same billing with T. W. Keene, the great tragedian in San Fran cisco in ’75. Mrs. Shaw made her first stage appearance as “Little Willie” in "East Lynne,” when she was 8. Later, as a member of the Child Opera Company. New York City, she toured the West Indies as a singer and actress. One of the Shaws’ favorite recol lections was the time roadside ruf fians halted their stagecoach on the plains and ordered a "command performance.” Conchita sang the sentimental ballad.
