I Mrs. Youngblood's maternal an ) cestors in the Garland and Dupre ' families have been prominent in Louisiana for many generations, and \ her paternal grandfather. John Mc j Neese. was a pioneer educator in • that State. : Mr. Youngblood, a native of Georgia, is connected with the De j partment of Justice. \ Among the out-of-town guests for 1 the wedding were Miss Belle Dupre of Louisiana, an aunt, and Mr. and * Mrs. John Youngblood of Waycross, i where the family has been promi nent in social and political circles. 168 Women Attend Annual Outing at Camp Bennett Approximately 168 members of J the women's division of the John S. Bennett memorial campaign, the Women’s Guild of Central Union Mission and the Evening Auxiliary attended the annual outing at Camp Bennett over the week end. Leaving Saturday afternoon for the camp, which is about a mile be ■ yond Brookeville, Md„ they were i served dinner in the dining hall used by the underprivileged chil- J dren. The camp gathering was in the nature of a welcome home event for Mrs. Jean Bennett, superintend ent of the mission, who has just returned from the West, where she was elected president of the Ameri can Federation of Soroptimist Clubs. Guests were received by Mrs. Ben nett. assisted by Mrs. William H. Ramsey, president of the guild, and Mrs. Mervyn Lanham, president of the auxiliary. About 88 boys and girls will arrive for the opening of the camp today, to remain for two weeks, when an other group of children will be sent to enjoy a summer vacation. Party for Children At Gallinger Children at Gallinger Hospital, between the ages of 4 and 8 years, will be given a party by members of Gamma Chapter. Beta Sigma Phi, tomorrow from 5 to 7 p.m. In addi tion to ice cream and cookies, they will be presented with sun suits. Mrs. Victoria Kay Strauch is in charge of plans and will be assisted by Mrs. Mildred Vettori, Miss Ruth Gilbert and Miss Betty Conn. Mrs. Strauch also is in charge of a knitting project for the chap ter, which is making sweaters for the Red Cross. She is assisted bv Miss Gilbert. Miss Conn, Miss Helen Buzzell and Miss Edna Steinberger. Mrs. Eloise Dettman, Miss Buraell, Mrs. Ruth Cate Hill, Miss Irene Stevenson and Miss Kathryn Mason are undertaking individual projects in preparation for the preceptor de gree, the final of the order. Royal Arcanum Municipal Council meets July 10. Regent Jack Feeney will preside. District Council meets July 11 at 1015 L street N.W. Kismet Council meets July 12 at 1015 L street N.W. Regent Ben Bol linger, jr., will preside. Grand Regent Herman Wealthall has appointed A. J. Horn of Munici pal Council as his deputy campaign manager for July and August. He has opened headquarters at 6203 Vorlich lane, Bethesda, Md. Robert E. Racoosin of Oriental Council was presented with the fraternal circle badge and plaque at the Royal Arcanum Day cele bration last month. He is the first member to receive this honor in the District. Loyal Order of Moose Columbia Lodge tomorrow will decide on the annual Moose family picnic. Gov. Howard R. Clark will preside. Past Gov. Ernest R. Thomp son, who represented the lodge at the annual Moose Convention in Des Moines. Iowa, will make his report. The regular Saturday evening gatherings in the Moose Club will continue during the summer months. Women of the Moose. Columbia Chapter met last Fri day night at 1414 I street N.W., with Marie A. Clark presiding. The newly elected officers will take over at the meeting on July 12 at 8 p.m. Mrs. Delphia Driscoll was obligated and accepted as a new member. The members will co-operate with Columbia Lodge in giving a box social on July 13 at the Moose Sail at 7:30 p.m. The following committee chair men are requested to submit their reports on July 12: Mooseheart, Moosehaven, library, membership and publicity.
