Boyd, U. S. N., who died July 11, bequeathed about $76,000 to various charities, while to relatives and friends she gave about $20,000, District Court was advised yesterday in a petition for the probate of her will. Her daughter and son, Mrs. Alice Willard Boyd Stanley, 2370 Massa chusetts avenue N.W., and Walter Willard Boyd, River road, Bethesda, Md„ will divide around $1,000,000 equally between them, the records show. Mrs. Boyd left $25,000 to Gar field Memorial Hospital to make some permanent improvement on its grounds or to be added to its endowment fund; Washington Home for Incurables receives $10,000 un der the will, the Episcopal Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital gets $5,000; Children’s Hospital, $1,000; Protes tant Episcopal Cathedral Founda tion of the District of Columbia, $10,000 to be applied to the cost of building some specific part of the Cathedral to be known as the Wil lard Memorial: House of Mercy, Klingle road N.W., for its .endow ment fund, $2,000; Church Orphan age Association of St. John’s Par ish, 1922 F street N.W., $500. Requests to Education. The Rector, Wardens and Vestry of Epiphany Parish of the Protes tant Episcopal Church of the Dio cese of Washington received $8,000 to be added to its endowment fund; $5,000 goes to the Protestant Epis copal Foundation for St. Albans, the National Cathedral School for Boys, to be added to the Walter Willard Boyd scholarship fund; $500 to the Sisters of St. Margaret, Boston; $5,000 to the University of Virginia, in memory of her late husband! Mrs. Boyd's books on religious subjects she leaves to the Protestant Episcopal Foundation and she leaves her tangible personal prop erty and effects to her daughter and son. The petition for the probate of Mrs. Boyd’s will w-as filed by At torney C. F. R. Ogilby, and Justice Bolitha J. Laws in District Court signed an order admitting the will to probate. The will was dated May 6. 1939, and an amendment bore the date of November 22. Debts of the estate, the court was told, will total about $6,000. Mrs. Boyd's son receives the; premises at 1621 Twenty-second street N.W., where she made her home. That property is assessed at $85,850.
