Event; Group of Prizes Offered Interest in the bundle-wrapping contest to be held tomorrow night in the auditorium of the United States Chamber of Commerce has increased rapidly, and entry lists, now closed, indicate a real com petition for the $245 in Defense bonds and stamps which will be awarded the winners. Sponsored by The Evening Star in co-operation with the Merchants' and Manufacturers’ Association, the program is intended to develop ways and means of saving wrapping ma terials, especially kraft paper which is approaching a situation of critl clal shortage. Ralph Lee, 58, Retired Printing Official, Dies Ralph Lee, 58, retired official of the National Capital Press, died yes terday at Emergency Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Lee, who had made his home in White Hall, Va., since his retirement five years ago, was stricken with pneumonia while visiting friends here. In his early years Mr. Lee was a newspaperman in New England and the Middle West. Before the World War he served In the Army as an engineer, coming to Washington about 25 years ago. Mr. Lee moved to Silver Spring in 1923 and was organizer and first president of the Woodside Park Civic Association. He served as delegate from that group to the Montgomery County Civic Fed eration for 10 years and was a Maryland representative on the Tnterfederation Conference for sev eral years. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church at Wood side. a Mason and a member of the National Press Club. Eesides his widow, Mrs. Besse : Patteson Lee, he is survived by a i son, David R. Y., Feb. 4.—Frank Schubert, 47, assistant general man ager of the Houde Engineering Corp. of Buffalo and an Internationally known Industrial engineer, died early today following a heart at tack. Mr. Schubert spent two years in Russia in 1930 and 1931 as consult ing engineer and works manager of the first state anti-friction bearing plant at Moscow. A native of Barberton, Ohio, he was vice president of the McGill Metal Co., Valparaiso. Ind., before his job in Russia. On his return to America in 1932 he was assistant to the president of the Bearings Co. of America, Lancaster, Pa. He joined the Houde Co. in 1936. British Libyan General Receives Highest Award By the Associated Press. LONDON, Feb. 4.—Brig. Gen. John C. Campbell, an artillery com mander in Libya who replaced one of his wounded gunners and kept on firing after being wounded him self, has been given the Victoria Cross, Britain's highest award for valor, it was announced yesterday. The 43-year-old officer was deco rated for his part in the fighting last November 21 and 22 in the Libyan battle front at Rezegh. Elder Samuel C. Windsor, Assistant Pastor, Dead Elder Samuel C. Windsor, who served as assistant pastor of-the Church of the Holy Trinity, 1618 Eleventh street NW., for nine years, died today at his home, 511 Colum bia road N.W., after a long illness. Bom in Linden, Cass County, Tex., in 1897, he was the son of the late Samuel C. and Martha Ann Windsor. He was educated In the elementary schools here and by tu tors. He worked at the War De partment and Soldiers* Home until his health failed. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Rosa V.
