Fifteenth and V streets N.W., pre ceding burial in Fairview Ceme tery, Culpeper, Va. Mr. Brand, a native of Page County, Va., and a resident of the District for more than 35 years, died at his home, 1413 Girard street N.W., after a lingering illness. He was a descendant of early Virginia families and was named for his maternal grandfather. Judge James Stewart, one of the first three Supreme Court justices of the State of Virginia. His father. James Alexander Brand, was also a State Supreme Court justice. Before coming to Washington.
