At one time she served as State treasurer for the DAR in Texas and also as State treasurer for the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs. Mrs. Burnside was also a member of the Francis Scott Key Chapter of the DAR here. Besides Mrs. Lowrey she is sur vived by another daughter, Mrs. W. L. Mrs. Cheney, a native of Vermont, was a graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy, Oberlin College and Rad clUTe College.
