The coal strike, threatening wide spread Industrial curtailment, con tinued to chill bullish sentiment. Di vidends, earnings and splitups re mained as speculative and invest ment props, as did the outlook for further relaxation of OPA price con trols. Fractional variations ruled from the start, although a few “thin” is sues climbed several points. Deal ings were slack throughout and quo tations well mixed' near the fourth hour. In front most of the day were Gimbel, Distillers Corp., Hiram Walker, Sunray Oil, City Investing, Woolworth, J. C- Penney, Great Northern, Chesapeake & Ohio, Goodyear, Douglas Aircraft and American Telephone. R-K-O dipped on talk of the Atlas Corp. dispos ing of part or all of its holdings in i this concern. Backward were War ner Bros., Paramount Pictures, United States Steel, Chrysler, Gen eral Motors Santa Fe, New York Central, Anaconda, North American, Philip Morris, National Distillers and Schenley. i '■ ■■■■■' ■.' ■. ■ — Sales— Stock and Add Net Dividend Rate. 00.
