J. E. Chrisman, superintendent of traffic for the company, told the Chevy Chase Citizens’ Association j it was up to the people to deter - | mine what kind of service they ; want. The group approved the com pany’s plans to improve service for the Barnabv Woods area, the re routing of the M-4 buses along Patterson street N.W., and further , extension of service to Chestnut street N.W. A motion introduced by Edward T. Stafford, second vice ^president of the association, urging daylight saving time for the District, was approved. | The citizens expressed opposi tion to the proposed rezoning of ! the Maryland side of Western ave i nue beyond Pinehurst Circle for a ! shopping center. Judge J. Fred Johnson, jr.p Fed eral Communications Commission attorney, addressed the association, which met at Lafayette School, Northampton street and Broad Brafich road NW. Judge Johnson said •'collective bludgeoning" should be done away with and collective bargaining restored. Frank H. Myers, first vice presi dent, presided at the meeting. Friendship Heights Unit Hears Protests on Towers Strong opposition to proposed erection of a 300-foot television tower at Fortieth and Brandywine streets N.W. was expressed last night by members of the Friendship Heights Citizens’ Association. No action was taken, however, the asso elation having voted opposition to the tower twice previously. "Not only owners of adjacent property, but every citizen should be concerned,” D. B. Guynn declared, in calling on members to attend a congressional hearing on a bill to outlaw the towers. Mrs. Ida Rossi and Charles E. Saunders, who testi fied at the hearing yesterday, told the association of their objections. The group ordered printing of 500 Captured Forever!
