presumed to have lost their lives.
A native Washingtonian, young
Barringer was graduated in Feb
ruary, 1942, from McKinley Tech
nical High School. He enlisted in
December, 1942, but was not called
to active duty until May, 1943, sev
eral months after entering the
University of Maryland.
After training at Bainbridge, Md.,
Newport. R. I., and the submarine
school at New London, Conn., he
wpnt overseas in May, 1944.
In addition to his parents, he is
survived by two sisters. Mrs. Betty ;
Strickrott of Washington and Mrs. I
Richard P. Battle of New York
City. Memorial services will be held j
at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the
Bethanv Baptist Church, Second
street and Rhode Island avenue
