Pro Athletes Have Two Careers

slonal athletes to spend the off season
hunting, fishing or spinning yarns around
a pot-bellied stove at the village store.
The tendency among modern-day players
Is to supplement their incomes with a profit
able off season occupation, salesman pre
ferred, in which their sports page names
Hie Redskins could corral almost a full
team from temporary District residents.
BUI Young has his own cement company,
Jimmy Youel is a sportscaster, Clem Stralka
a three-sport coach at the National Train
ing School for Boys and John Koniszewskl
a dabbler In pro basket ball.
Wilbur Moore is busy at the Redskin
office with his duties as assistant coacn,

A few years ago, members of the Redskins,
Nationals and other seasonal teams de
serted Washington in the off season, but
now a number of players who are not
settled in their respective home towns will
