Patricia Schmidt, 21, an almond eyed dancer of Oriental specialties, whose professional name is “Satira,” will be brought from Guanabaco Prison tomorrow to satisfy Judge Santiago Menacia’s expressed curio sity as to how the 5-foot, 2-inch To ledo girl could fire a bullet which took a downward course through the neck of the 6-foot, 2-inch Mee. Miss Schmidt, who was indicted yesterday on homicide charges in Mr. Mee’s death Sunday, said Mon day in the presence of her attorney, Rene Castellanos, that she fired one wild shot from a .22 caliber target pistol during an argument after she discovered Mr. Mee was married. Friend Appoint* Counsel. She said she had lived aboard the yacht iii the shadow of towering Morro Castle since January. "He had asked me to marry him,” she repeated again and again. ‘‘We were terribly in love.” Charles Jackson, 27, of River For est, HI., joint owner with Mr. Mee of the 72-root yacht, named a law yer, Dr. Israel Soto Barroso, today to represent him in the' case. He was indicted as an accessory after the fact, allegedly for concealing Information, f Bail for Jackson—a wartime buddy of Mr. Mee—was fixed at $10,000. Case May Require Year or More. The case against Jackson and Miss Schmidt may require several months—even a year—before it reaches trial. She was not ad mitted to bail, but Mr. Castellanos declared that within a month he would prove to the Cuban courts that the shohoting was in self defense, and that thus, under Cuban law, his client should be freed on bond. Dr. Lester E. Mee, the victim's father, and John F. Arnold, a cousin, were given authority to remove Mr’. Mee’s body from Cuba. They said they would transport it to Wilmette, HI.; for funeral services and burial. Y., April 16.—Pub lic Administrator Samuel Sapowich said today he was carefully guard ing 61 violins found in the shop of the late Paul M. Kodet, 81. because a family representative had told him "some of them are priceless.” The violins were discovered yes terday in cases and in dusty closets in the tiny violin shop wh.ue Mr. Rodet died of natural, causes Sun day. "The 20 violins I found in cases are priceless, according to Mrs. Flora Higgins of Los Angeles,” Mr. Sapowich said. “She told me over the telephone she had known Rodet for over 30 years and was coming here Friday to verify her state ment.” Son 111 in Los Angeles.
