I Air Transport Institute To Open at American U. An Air Transportation Institute, believed to be the first of Its kind, will be given at American University In co-operation with the Civil Aero nautics Administration and the Air Transport Association of America. Leaders in the transport field will discuss problems of air transporta tion, and the institute will include a full daytime program of lectures, field trips to nearby airports to study their facilities and visits to Govern ment agencies. The month-long institute will be g|n Tuesday with Prof. L. M. Hom berger of the university In charge. Among those scheduled to speak and lead discussions arc Admiral Emory S. Land, president, Air Transport Association; H. P. Law, administrator of the Washington National Airport; H. E. Nourse, vice president of United Air Lines; Emory T. Nunneley, jr., general counsel; L. Welch Pogue, formerly chairman, and Oswald Ryan, vice chairman of the Civil Aeronautics Board. 'Hoya Station' Post Office Opens on G. U. Campus Outgoing mail from Georgetown University now bears a cancellation stamped “Hoya Station,” official name given by the Postofflce De partment to Washington's newest postal contract station. Located on the ground floor of the Old North Building on the main campus, the formal opening of the campus postofflce yesterday culmi nated a long campaign by the stu dent body. Nearest station to the campus was the branch at MIS | Thirty-first street N.W. Postmaster Thomas M. Smith and his assistant, Jeremiah M. Long, both Foreign Service School students, re ported a rush business in stamps, money orders, postcards and stamped envelopes. Hoya Station transacts all the business of any postoffice except the handling of in ternational money orders and par cel post. The station is equipped now to provide mail boxes for 1,600 students and may be forced to enlarge soon.
