A TRIP TO THE EARTH A great many scientists on the earth worry continually about whether we'll ever be able to make the trip to Mars. Meanwhile Cartoonist Charles Pearson, who is our expert on interplanetary matters, says he has the lowdown that scientists on Mars are actually outfitting an expedition to the Earth. At right you see the Martian writer, H. G. Wellspop, hard at work on a prediction of what kind of life the expedition will find. Wellspop insists that there is life on Earth — though some Martian scientists scoff at the idea. ®- WkiLIFOP warns the adventurers that they must expect to be ridiculed by Earthians. “Remember," he says, “we’ll look as absurd to them as they do to us." *1 ( < 1 Li 1 J 1 I I U ^ _ _ "WAViti on Earth is much stronger than it is on Mars; Earthians have strong, springy tails that help them move from place to place when they are on dry land.” "THE EARTH'S climate is a great deal warmer than our own; therefore Earthians wear less clothes. This is par ticularly true during mating season, which is always.” "THBEE'QUARTEBS of the Earth is under water; thus Earthians are amphibious creatures. They do most of their farming on ocean beds, which seems strange to us Martians.” "THE FAJDTT radio reception we get from the Earth indicates that the creatures are fond of fearful, groan ing noises that approximate what Martians call music.” "CONSTANT explosions observed on the Earth lead us to believe it is ruled by a system called inter national politics. This means every man for himself.” You keep adorable with Jergens Dryad, a new kind of cream deo dorant.
