Overell. The buxom. 18-year-old heiress to her parents’ (500,000 estate seemed as placid and calm as any spectator in the courtroom as she took the witness stand yesterday afternoon and began testimony which the defense hopes will re fute some of the salient points of prosecution witnesses. Emphatically, she denied the testi mony of her uncle, Emmanuel Jungquist, that shortly after her parents’ death March 15 she told him she was taking immediate charge of her father's Washington Finance Co. and intended to Install Gollum as president. Mr. Jungquist, head of a Los Angeles steel com pany, had been called as a prosecu Wanted to Continue Buiineae. “I explained to Uncle Manny that I wanted to continue father’s busi ness because I believed my parents would wish me to do so,” she related to the jury. “I told him Bud would finish his schooling, that we planned to be married on my 18th birthday last April 30 and that eventually Bud would be able to help me with the business.” She had an explanation for the disarray which prosecution wit nesses told of seeing in the big Overell mansion in suburban Flint ridge a few days after a dynamite blast blew up the Overell yacht with Louise's parents aboard. She testified that she dumped furniture from a bedroom into the master bedroom, not because she and Gollum were occupying the same quarters, but because she was making a place for his sister, Wila fred Gollum, who had come to Flintridge to live. Tells ef Romance. Throughout her testimony, the young woman threaded statements of how her mother suggested she write to Gollum while he was serv ing with the Navy in the Philip pines; how her mother invited Gol lum to dine at the Overell residence, and how her mother and father ap proved of Gollum as a suitor and as a prospective husband. Louise’s story of her romance pic tured her meeting Gollum when she was six years of age; beginning active correspondence with him in 1945 and having two and three dates a week after his discharge from the service last year. She told of gay parties at the Overell home, danc ing and dining at exclusive yacht clubs, theater dates and long days together aboard her parents’ yacht off the Southern California cdast. Joseph E.
