Although she’s only been in this country
a short while, Josephine is one inuni
grant who’s sure she likes it here. She ar
rived from the Belgian Congo as one of the
newest additions to the Bronx Zoo, where
her address is the Animal Nursery.
Under the care of Mrs. Fred Martini,
wife of the Lion House Keeper, Josephine,
who’s only a girl of three years, has been
studying up on proper zoo etiquette. She’s
been trained to sit at a table, eat with a
spoon and otherwise behave like a civilized
chimpanzee. She’s also been learning to
knit — with the results shown.
What’s she like best about America?
Well, back in the old country she was crazy
about bananas, but now she’s got a new
favorite dish — chocolate ice cream cones.
