Miss Gibson disappeared a week i ago from her cabin in which ship's ; officers found the porthole open and small spots, believed to be blood, on her rumpled pillow. The night before she disappeared she attended a dinner dance aboard the ship, the Union Castle Liner ■ Durban Casfle. while it was bound from South Africa to England. The vessel turned about and searched the sea for her after ship officers had made'a fruitless search of the ship. Night Gown and Robe Missing. The black evening gown she wore to the dance was neatly hung in the cabin, but a nightgown and her dressing robe were missing. Eric Boon, with whom she ap peared in the South African road show production of Clifford Odets' "Golden Boy," told reporters Miss Gibson was "full of the joy of living." "I understand a friend paid her fare to England" from South Africa, xvir. ηυυιι saiu. Miss Gibson's parents, who accom panied the actress when she left more than three months ago for South Africa to appear in the play, are still in the southern dominion. Fingerprints Sought. The door to her cabin, padlocked by ship's officers after she vanished, was taken to police headquarters here by detectives after they had dusted it in a search for fingerprints. ' A steward had said said the door was slammed in his face about 3 a.m., on October 18 when a bell rang sum moning him to her cabin. A stewardess discovered Mise Gib ! son's disappearance later that day when she carried tea into the cabin and found it empty. A woman oc cupying the adjoining the cabin said she heard a "clatter'' during the night but it sounded like a tray fall ing and she took no further notice. Detectives questioned two first class passengers and three crew members, including one seaman, whom they took to headquarters.
