Knowland Denounces Taylor for Attacks On Truman, Forrestal By the Associated Press Senator Knowland, Republican of California wrathfully denounced Senator Taylor, Democrat, of Idaho In the Senate yesterday after Sen ator Taylor criticized President Truman and called Secretary of Defense Forrestal “a potential Hit ]pr.*’ Senator Knowland. stepping down from the rostrum where he had been presiding, shouted that Sena tor Taylor "could not if he tried have given more aid and comfort to the Kremlin" than'he did in his remarks to the Senate. Senator Taylor is a candidate for Vice President on the third party ticket of Henry Wallace. Scores "Smallness" of Truman. Man Hit by Streetcar In Serious Condition A man who suffered a skull frac ture when he was struck by a street :ar in the 3100 block of Georgia ivenue N.W. was reported in seri pus condition at Freedmen’s Hos pital today. Police said Clinton Rivers, 38, colored, 602 Kenyon street N.W., was struck yesterday as he was crossing Georgia avenue. The driver of the streetcar was listed as Robert E. Pearson, 34, of 14 Farragut place tf.W. Another accident yesterday in vhich a station wagon struck a tele phone pole when the driver lost :ontrol in the 4900 block of Benning oad N.E., sent five persons to Cas lalty Hospital for treatment of ninor cuts and bruises. Police said the driver, Mrs. Ann Watkins, 26, of 4349 Southern ave lue, Bradbury Heights, Md., told hem she turned to admonish three :hildren in the back seat and aruck the pole. Charles Bremer, 32, announced he would bill the city for half the hotel cost. Mr. Bremer said the decision to move into the Gibbons Hotel last night followed a futile live-month quest for lodgings. Removed from their rented house which had been sold, the parents and four children—ranging in age from 1 to 5—began a daylong hunt for help.
