The District primary, once post poned by court order, now is sched uled for next Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. President Truman’s name is the only one appearing on the presi dential preference part of the ballot, but a write-in is possible. ADA is not suggesting any candidate by name, but the group has stated it would prefer either Gen. Eisenhower or Supreme Court Justice Douglas. ADA is asking that voters ap prove a move to bind the District's delegates to vote for the leading candidate in the presidential prefer ence voting, however. It is opposing a proposition to bind the delegation by a unit rule. The ticket, as finally worked out in an agreement between the ADA backed group and the regular or ganization headed by -Melvin D. Hildreth, gives the new group four of the 12 delegate positions with each person having half a vote at the Philadelphia convention next month. ADA also won six of the 22 posi tions on the Democratic Central Committee. Mr. Hildreth will be the national committeeman and Mrs. J. Borden Harriman the na tional committeewoman, a post she has held for many years. To vote, all that is necessary Is to appear at a polling place, state j that you are a Democrat and have! lived in the District for two years and don't vote elsewhere. Polling places are Willard Hotel;; Pythian Temple, Ninth street and Massachusetts avenue N.W.; 1352 U street N.W.; 5323 East Capitol street.! 141 B street S.E.; 826 Bladensburg road N.E., and 409 Seventh street' S.W.
