Grant retired from the com mission in 1931 and Mr. Bloom be came commission director. Mrs. Schulman continued as secretary to Mr. Bloom on the commission. Prof. Wrong was connected with the university for 35 years. He was considered the dean of Canadian historians. He specialized in Can adian and American history and was an authority on French Canada and inter-imperial relations. O'Donoghue Requiem To Be Held Tomorrow; Court Mourns Death Requiem mass for retired District Court Justice Daniel W. O’Donoghue will be said at 10 an. tomorrow at St. Thomas Apostle Catholic Church, Woodley road and Twenty-seventh street N.W. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Justice O’Donoghue, who was a former president of the District Bar Association, died yesterday at his home, 2303 California street N.W. He was 71. The death of the jurist was mourned today at a general term session in District Court which was attended by all the court s justices. Dunlop Notifies Court. v Formal notification of Justice O’Donoghue’s death was presented to the court by Attorney G. Thomas Dunlop as a representative of the District Bar Association. Chief Justice Bolitha J. Laws de clared, “It is the deepest regret on the part of us that this distinguished and fine person has passed on to his reward.” He praised the jurist as "a most distinguished member of the bar of the District Court.” Justice O’Donoghue served 15 years on the District Court bench before his retirement in October, 1946. He had been ill for some time. Representatives Appointed. Lowry N. Coe, president of the District Bar Association, today ap pointed the following members, many of whom are past presidents, to represent the association at Jus tice O’Donoghue’s funeral: Walter M. William Bull Dies; Financed Explorers By tht Associated Press NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, On tario, June 30.—William Perkins Bull, 78, noted author and lawyer, died here today. Mr. Bull, who helped finance the early expeditions of Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd and the late Roald Amundsen, had wide business inter ests including Cuban sugar planta tions. He was the author of a num ber of historical works. Mr. Bull figured in a legal battle which attracted continent-wide at tention involving the estate of Mrs. Mabelle Horlick Sidley, Chicago heiress to the Horlick malted milk fortune. She died at Mr. Bull’s Toronto home in July, 1938, after living there for some years. A post mortem examination indicated Mrs. Sidley had died from natural causes, and an inquest was stopped by court order. It was then disclosed that Mrs. Sidley had bequeathed about $500, 000 to Mr. Bull. Mrs. Sidley’s son, William Sidley, tried to break the will. An out-of-court settlement was reached by which, it was re ported at the time, Mr. Bull re ceived $250,000 and other legacies in return for renouncing further in terest. fti connection with his Cuban op erations, Mr. Bull founded the town of Bartle, Cuba, naming it for a son who later became a member of the British Parliament. Two Washingtonians Hurt In Diving at North Beach Two Washington residents were treated at the Calvert County Hos pital, Prince Frederick, Md., for neck injuries suffered on successive days as a result of diving from a pier into shallow water at North Beach. Joseph Balco, 23, of 1457 Girard street N.W., at waiter at the May flower Hotel and star second base man of the hotel’s softball team, was hurt in a dive Monday. He was treated at Calvert County Hospital and released yesterday. Charles Bucher, 16, of 2924 Tenth street N.E., a sophomore at St. An thony’s High School, suffered a bro ken neck in a dive Sunday. Marshall, 74, who had driven the same Ford about Wash ington streets for 20 years, died yesterday in Winston-Salem, N. C., of injuries received a week ago in his first automobile accident. Mr. Marshall, until recently a familiar figure driving slowly through the District in his 1928 model A car, was living in Winston-Salem with a relative for the summer. According to his family, a rear tire of Mr. Marshall’s car blew out while he was attempting to pull over from the center of the road for a passing car. Swerving onto an embankment, the Ford overturned and Mr. Marshall received a frac tured arm and leg and Internal injuries. He was taken to the Baptist Hospital at Winston-Salem, where he died. Didn’t Care for New Cars. A brother, William T. Marshall, who for 40 years was librarian of the White House, said his brother “loved his Ford’’ and never cared much for the new cars. Mr. Marshall was a native of the District, the second oldest of four sons of the late William and Sarah Ellen Marshall. He attended Dis trict schools, but left high school to become a musician in the Marine Corps for several years. Later, completing his education, he went to work in the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, where he j remained for 32 years. On his re-; tiremcnt in 1939 he was a delivery- j man in its postage stamp division, j His most recent home was in Be thesda, Md. Remarried in 10 Years. His first wife, Mrs. Agnes Kraft; Marshall, died about 20 years ago. He remarried the former Emilyn j Dunn here about 10 years ago. Mrs. Marshall has bene living at Ches-: apeake Beach, Md., for several years. In addition to his widow and brother, William, Mr. Marshall leaves two other brothers, Albert E. and Edgar C. Marshall, both of Washington. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the S. H. Hines, funeral home, 2901 Fourteenth street N.W. Burial will be in Ar lington Cemetery. John Tragesser, oldest Catholic priest in the Archdiocese of Balti more, died yesterday in Jenkins Memorial Hospital, where he had been an Invalid since 1940. He was 86. A native of Baltimore. Father Tragesser was ordained in 1888. Most of his assignments were in Baltimore churches. Indus trialist, author and philanthropist, died yesterday at his summer horn* here a week after being stricken ilL A director and former vice presi dent of the E. I. du Pont de Nemours Co., he started with the Wilmington company a^private secretary to his father in 1900. In 1915, he and five others purchased the holdings of T. Coleman du Pont and started an expansion program. Associated with him in that enter prise were P. S., Irenee and Lamont du Pont, John J. Raskob and R. R. M. Carpenter. A. Felix du Pont was made vice president in 1919 and held that position until his retirement in 1944. He and his sister, Mrs. Irenee du Pont, founded the St. Andrew’s School for Boys at Middletown. Del. He was a trustee of the University of Pennsylvania. In 1944. he published a book, “Un dersea With Helmet and Camera.” describing his experiences beneath the ocean off the Bahamas. He is survived by his widow, the former Ann Burton of Milford, Del.; a son, A. Felix, jr., and three daugh ters, Lydia, Alice and Sarah. An other son, Richard C., was killed in 1943 in a glider crash while serving as an assistant to Gen. H. H. (Hap) Arnold, chief of Army Air Forces.
