Open Sun., 9-4 Jet Expert Who Fled From Soviets Says Free Vote Would Oust Reds ly Hit Associated Press LONDON, Sept. 7. — A Russian who said he once was a Jet propul sion expert In the Soviet Air Force emerged from hiding yesterday and said he liked the fresh air of free England. He said lots of other Rus sians would, too. He is Lt. Col. Gregory Tokaev. 38, whose flight from the Soviet Mili tary Administration in Berlin was disclosed a fortnight ago and con firmed by the Foreign Office. Col. Tokaev brought his wife and 10-year-old daughter with him. He appeared at a new conference where he was heckled and accused of "treachery” by Soviet press repre sentatives In London. Heckled at Meeting. The bespectacled, slightly built Russian grinned as he exchanged verbal punches with his hecklers. “Give the Russian people Just one day of Hyde Park, just one chance at speaking their minds in public, one free election in the sense that Great Britain knows it and I am quite sure 90 per cent of them will go against the Politburo and Tass (official Soviet news agency),’’ he said. Col. Tokaev refused to say how he sought asylum with British author ities in Berlin. But he sai^ he was now living on a “quiet farm not far from London” and writing a book. He said he had been a member of the Communist Party since 1932 but decided to quit the “ranks of the disturbers of the world's peace." Col. Tokaev said he became chief of the aerodynamics laboratory of the Zhukovsky Military Aviation Engineering Academy in Moscow and during the war was an instruc tor and research worker in Jet-pro pelled planes. Held Vital Ports. After the war his military jobs in Berlin included a post as secretary of the Soviet section of the Allied Control Council and senior assist ant to the chief of the Soviet mili tary aviation section for jet propul sion science and technology. Col. Tokaev steadfastly refused to comment on military subjects, say ing he was “against the Soviet regime, but prefers to fight it- po litically.” Declaring the Soviet regime is “fostering a third world war,” Col. Venereal Treatment Increases in District Admissions to the three Health Department clinics during the de partment's campaign against gon orrhea in the District has averaged about 1,500 per month, the depart ment announce today. This is an Increase of 44 per cent over the number of admissions for treatment of venereal disease before the campaign began July 1. Telephone calls to the special VD Information number, Metropol itan 4600, have numbered 700 since the drive began, it was announced, more than doubling the calls during the first quarter of the year. More than 3,200 tubes of penicil lin, each containing enough to treat one caw, have been distributed to ISO District physicians, the depart ment announced, and individual orders have ranged from 0 to 350 doses.
