ORdway 2100 Junior Bar Issues New Practice Manual The Junior Bar Section of. the District Bar Association is distribut ing a new practice manual designed particularly to assist young mem bers of the District bar. The 180-page booklet contains a personnel directory listing judges and attaches of the courts here as well as heads of many District gov ernment agencies. It contains in struction on various court proced ures here and a chapter en trial techniques. The manual was edited by Thomas Raysor and Bernard H. White. About 2,500 copies are being dis tributed free to members of the bench and bar and various officials. The editors expect about 5.000 irore will be purchased by lftw stu dents and others interested. Preparation of the manual was one of the principal activities of the 1947-3 program of the junior bar section, which is composed of about 325 members of the Bar Association under the age of 36. The Bar Asso ciation provided financial support of the project. Mr. White was chairman of the Practice Manual Committee and Mr. Raysor was chairman of the section1 during 1947 and 1948. - ! 12 Who Survived Sinking Of Circus Ship Picked Up ! By the Associated Press WILLEMSTAD, Curacao. Sept. 11. —A radio message from the master of the Norwegian motor vessel Car ibe said today that three crewmen and nine passengers survived the sinking of the circus ship Euzkera. The 12 are aboard the Caribe, which picked them up from a life boat after the 140-foot* Euzkera went down in a storn^off the Co lombian coast September 1. A total of 56 persons and 59 ani mals, including trained lions, tigers, monkeys, horses and dogs were be lieved aboard the Euzkera. The message from the Caribe, which is headed for Curacao, said the crewmen-rescued were Capt. Joseph Pouchi, British; Chief Mate Alberto Iglesias, Cuban, and En gineer Caspar Ayo, Cuban. She still was in critical condition. If she recovers, presumably she can explain what Detective Lt. M. A. Stephenson said appeared to be an accident last Monday night. At that time her actress friend. [Mary Ainslee, stopping by jo take Miss Johnson to a cocktail party, discovered Miss'johnson had bruised her head. Miss Johnson explained only that “the hair drier fell on me,” before she sank unconscious. Her condition >grew steadily worse. Thursday she was sent to a hospital and three surgeons operated, re moving a blood clot that had been pressing on the brain. Detectives examining Miss John son’s apartment said the hair drier was a beauty-parlor type, standing on a pedestal like a bridge lamp.
