A similar float is among more than 10 which will appear in Saturday’s Southeast parade. - »—.. . -. ■ ■ --- Soap Box Derby Registrants To Enter Big Southeast Parade f Plans are being completed for the biggest parade in the history l of Southeast Washington on Sat I urday. • Highlight of the parade—a sa lute to American youth—will be a Soap Box Derby float and a marching contingent composed of entrants for this year’s derby. The parade, sponsored by Southeast business and civic groups, will begin at 2 p.m. at the Anacostia end of Minnesota ! avenue S.E. It will proceed up i Minnesota avenue about two and one-half miles to Randle circle. Atop the derby float will be Alfred Ashton, winner of last year’s race. The Washington der by will be held July 8 on Penn sylvania avenue S.E. between Branch and Alabama avenues. Boys 11 through 15 are urged to register immediately at their nearest Chevrolet dealer in order ! to h&ve their cars completed in time for the race. In the procession will be more than 30 floats, 20 marching units and 10 bands. This will be the Boys 11-15 Register now at your nearest Chevrolet dealer for the big 1950 Soap Box Derby, July 8. Ellensburg, Wash., has been named an associate professor of education at the George Wash ington University School of Edu cation.
