The Italians nave nearly 4 mil lion officially and unofficially un employed. They have unusual productive capacity in both heavy and light industry. The United States doubtless will be willing to furnish the raw materials Italy cannot buy. Italy needs to get that man power and those plants going, to produce goods and wages. Like most other European coun tries, the Italians have appropri ated a little more of their own funds for the current defense pro gram. but count heavily on the Yankee dollar. Charles M. Spof ford, American chairman of the North Atlantic Council of Depu ties, thinks they can do a lot bet ter than 150 billion lire allocated for the next three years, which amounts to around $90 million a year. The Italians have already proposed a list of $475 million worth of military items they would like to sell. Mr. Spofford believes they can finance much' of this internally. Italy has gone farther toward practical international teamwork than any other European nation —in several fields. Restaurant's Liquor Permit Suspended for 10 Days The Alcohol Beverage Control Board today suspended the liquor license of Bob White's Seafood House, 31 Pennsylvania avenue S.E. for 10 days beginning 8 a.m. Tuesday. The board heard testimony Thursday that Gardener S. White, proprietor of the restaurant, sold beer to an intoxicated man.
