Donohue Adds Praise As Lodge Is Honored For Civic Leadership Thomas Ellis Lodge, first presi dent and founder of American University Park Citizens’ Associa tion, and eminent in civic affairs, last night was honored by Com missioner F. Joseph Donohue and others at the group’s 25th anni versary dinner. Mr. Lodge, a well-known attor ney and oldtime law partner of Commissioner Donohue, was pre sented with a television set by the citizens’ group during the dinner in Westmoreland Congregational Church, Westmoreland Circle. The evening officially was designated “Tom Lodge Night.” The gift was presented by Joyce Andrews and Ellen O’Brien,. both 10, who read a speech prepared by* Frank* S. Sanford, delegate irom me citizens group to tne Federation of Citizens’ Associa tions. The Commissioner told the as sembled group he first met Mr. Lodge 26 years ago. “Those who wondered what kind of Commissioner I’d make shouldn’t have been disturbed,” he explained. “I spent so many yeans in the law business with Tom and Joseph A. Kaufman (presi dent of the Forest Hills Citizens’ Association), I became indoc trinated in what the associations want, and I have beep thinking of those things for years.’’ Another speaker, was Dr. Elmer Louis Kayser, dean of George Washington University. He introduced Commissioner Donohue and other civic leaders. Among those paying tribute to Mr. Lodge was Jesse C. Su'ter, civife editor of The Star. Other tributes came by wire from several Rep resentatives and Senators. Other business last night in eluded election of officers. Dr. Lloyd was re-elected for his fourth term. Also re-elected were Rob ert P. Alexander, vice president; Miss Marshall Brooke, treasurer; Robert H. Lewis, secretary; Mr. Lodge and Mr. Sanford delegates to the federation, and Maj. Gar land E. Taylor, delegated to the Northwest Council; Dr. Ellis Ha worth, elected delegate^to the Council, and Mrs. John W.
