Burleith Citizens' Association Cuts Red Tape, Vetoes Merger The Burleith Citizens’ Associa tion decided last night that when it comes to a choice between par liamentary procedure and the ex istence of the organization, the former doesn’t have a ghost of a chance. The association, meeting with out officers, voted against consol idation with any other group. The possibility of consolidating had been suggested by the associa tion’s officers last month. C. P. Wofford, a member, pre sided at the meeting at the Gor don Junior High School, Thirty fifth and T streets N.W. He told the group the president was out of town, the vice president was ill and other officers were not avail able to conduct the meeting. “I’m not sure this meeting is entirely legal,’’ Mr. Wofford said, as he reluctantly assumed the chair. “The president was going to appoint a committee to discuss consolidation with another group, and I don’t know whether the committee was ever appointed." The meeting bogged down as proposals and counter-proposals were made in an attempt to de cide whether the association should take up the problem of consolidation. Then Norman W. Fields, a past president, cut through the par liamentary confusion to move that the association simply vote to oppose consolidation. “I see no reason on earth why we should join another associa tion," he said. "We’re a small group, but we’ve got one of the "LET’S HAVE MOSLER CHANGE THE COMBINATION!” Want a combination changed ... a : burglarized safe repaired ... a safe > opened, moved, or reconditioned? i Locks, doors or hinges need service?
