Aga Khan May Come Here For Talk With Rita Hayworth By the Associated Press NEW YORK. May 15.—The New York Post said today that the Aga Khan is coming to this country and probably will discuss the financial settlement of Rita Hay worth’s proposed divorce from his son, Aly Khan, with Rita’s law yer. The lawyer, Bartley Crum, has announced that Rita intends to ask Aly for a $3 million trust fund to rear their daughter Yasmin as a Moslem. The Post said reports are that Aly is broke and his fabulously wealthy father supplies him with funds. The Aga is expected to come to the United States in a week or 10 days. Mr. Crum said Aly has indicated he will not stand in the way of the divorce plans. As for the trust fund for 16 month-old Yasnjin, Mr. Crum said he expects little opposition to this request. “I am dealing directly with the Prince on arrangements for the divorce and expect to go to Paris to talk to him personally,” Mr. Crum declared. Miss Hayworth is now establish ing residence at Olenbrook. Nev., on Lafce Tahoe. She went there a few days ago, saying she did not know whether to seek a separation or a divorce. But now. Mr. Crum said, she has decided to sue Aly for divorce as soon as a financial agreement is reached and after her legal six weeks Nevada residence -is estab lished. Mr. Crum said Miss Hayworth does not seek alimony nor a prop erty settlement for herself. He added that the divorce would be filed on the “general grounds of incompatibility." The actress. Mr. Crum said, went ahead despite a pleading letter last month from the son of the fabulously wealthy Aga Khan, spiritual head of the Ismaili Moslems. Aly ased her to think things over, Mr. Crum said. But he quoted the prince as writing Rita that “I will do as you wish." Mr. Crum said Aly wanted an out-of-court separation—if there had to be one. Aly said he had no other woman in his heart, Mr. Crum added. The pirnce told, his wife, Mr. Crum continued, that he had no plans to remarry, and assumed she didn’t either. Mr. Crum said Aly indicated he would undertake financial re sponsibility for Yasmin, but want ed to have the child with him after her seventh birthday. The $3 million figure, Mr. Crum explained, is the same sum settled Careful Training Shown in Recital By Mrs. Egeler By Elena de Sayn Marguerite Egeler, soprano, made her first appearance in the Phillips Gallery last night in re cital. Her stage presence and ability to project a song to her audience pointed to experience and careful training. Mrs. Egeler is an in telligent singer, endowed with a flexible voice which she success fully manages in numbers which require lightness and in those where dramatic expression is up permost, as in Wolf’s “Mignon.” Written to Goethe’s text "Knowest thou that fair land I knew long ago” the “Mignon" song exploits the lower register of the voice and requires intensity of feeling, also a good diction. Both of these Mrs. Egeler pos sesses. She is more at home with German than with the Italian or French, although Rossini’s "La Danza,” something of a tongue twister, went over smoothly. The German group contained further Mahler’s “Des Antonius von Padua Fischpredigt,” Richard Strauss’ “Die Nacht” and Brahms’ "Von Ewiger Liebe,” which gave the singer other opportunities to color the words according to their meaning. She was more at ease in Buononcini’s “Per La Gloria d’adoravi,” with its light trills, and Handel’s “Care Selve” than in Chausson’s characteristic “Les Papillons” and “La Caravane." Also. Mrs. Egeler did not receive here the same type of support from the piano as was given her before the intermission. The fragile “Les Papillons” was heavy and cumbersome. This excepted. Dorothy Gull provided an artistic and a sensitive accompaniment, especially rewarding in dramatic moments. by Aly on each of his two sons by a former marriage. Miss Hayworth, in return/ will keep her promise to rear Yasmin as a Moslem, the attorney said. However, Mr. Crum said that while she is willing to let Aly visit the child, she is undecided about his request that the child visit him. Miss Hayworth was bom a Roman Catholic. She And Aly were married on the French Riviera in a civil ceremony May 27, 1949. A Moslem wedding cere mony was performed the next day.
