jWesf's Ruling Permits
Transfer of Aufo Tags
Corporation Counsel Vernon E.
-West has overruled Traffic Direc
tor George E. Keneipp in his
stand that tags once issued to a
person may not be transferred to
another during the same tag year.
The question came up when a
widow asked that she be allowed
to retain the tag number that
had been issued to her husband.
Mr. Keneipp said it was impossible
under the present regulations, but
he asked that the Corporation
Counsel give an opinion on it.
The Commissioners, at a board
meeting yesterday upheld Mr.
West’s opinion that the tags may
be transferred. Mr. West told
the Commissioners he could find
nothing in the law to prohibit the
issuance of tags bearing the same
number to two different registered
owners during one registration
year, where the registration of the
first has expired.

A couple of weeks ago it was
announced that: “Two Seattle
University students set a new
world’s record by teeter-tottering
up and down
for 51 hours
and 31 min
uies.
So far this
two - student
record hasn’t
been broken,
which is very
discouraging. If
college students
today haven’t
got the ambi
tion and skill to
do worth-while
things like that,
how will they Grade Allen,
fit into the business world after
they graduate and become people?
When my uncle Harvey went to
Barber College he set a record by
shaving the top of his head twice
daily for three years. In fact, he
still does! There was a sheepskin
shortage at the time, so they had
to tattoo his diploma on his scalp
—and now he has to keep it
shaved to show he’s a college
graduate.
