I Man Gets 3-10 Years for Manslaughter in Burning of Another

ter in the fatal burning last April

Silas Wyatt, colored, of the first
block of H street S.W., had been
convicted in connection with the
death of William F. Mason, 38.
colored, who also lived in the H
street house.
Police said Wyatt objected to

an old mattress being taken Into
the house and started a fire on
April 4. Mr. Mason was burned
and died two days later in Casual
ty Hospital.
Pleads to Lesser Charge.
Wyatt had been indicted on
charges of first-degree murder and
arson. He was allowed to plead
guilty to the lesser charge of man
slaughter.
