Three Areas in Arizona PHOENIX.—Three distinct phy sical areas make up Arizona lofty plateaus and great canyons :in the north, high mountains in the central section, and desert i country in the south. k For over holf a century brides hove taken pride in Wedding Invitations and Announcements by Brewood . . . dis tinguished for their gracious styling, traditional good taste and unerring correctness of form. Roger Laswell Minister _William Johnstone Justice ot the Peace „ Harris Brown Thompson -Herbert Vlgran judge _ —Freeman Lusk By Harry MacArthur Loretta Young and Joseph Cot ten are called upon for some pretty sticky love talk in “Half Angel.” at the Capitol, but if you will take a deep breath the dizzy feeling will go away and you will find that they also engaged in some enjoyable light comedy. In other circumstances Writer Robert Ris kin and Director Richard Sale, who let him get away with it, might well deserve the bastinado for having Miss Young and Mr. Cotten address each other as “Jug head” and “Frog,” but they have conjured up enough amusing pas sages to win pardon if not forgive npss. ‘•Half Angel'’ is another Holly wood examination of the split per sonality, but it does not indulge in any sorrow for the girl who has it. Miss Young is the lass with the unsuspected psychiatric problem. By day she is a proper nurse, en gaged to a dull and clean-cut young man of her acquaintance. At night, after she goes to sleep, her subconscious takes over and she goes sleep-walking in ardent pursuit of a young millionaire she knew as a child. Since this young woman is not aware, when awake, of what she is doing when asleep, you can see that there are possibilities here. The man impersonated by Cotten is given an understand ably bad time by this doll who woos him at night, then swings on him and shouts down the law w-hen he presumes by day to take up where he left off. That sort of thing w^ould confuse a man. Apart from those endearments. Riskin's script is a generally bright one and Sale has directed it at a proper comedy pace. Miss Young and Cotten are a pair of facile performers, too, wrho can play a comedy scene for all it’s worth and sometimes more. The sight of Miss Young falling asleep on her feet while being married, for in stance, is a wonderfully comic snprfcaclp. The principals of “Half Angel’’ get some able assistance, too, from such as Cecil Kellaway. John Ridgely. and Jim Backus. Mr. Kel laway is very fine indeed as the sleepwalker's father, who remem bers beningly how his wife used to walk in her sleep before she married hjm. “Half Angel” is in Technicolor, incidentally, and Loretta Young in Technicolor is almost all a movie needs to keep a man happy. * * * * The headliner of the Capitol’s stage show is Snooky Lanson, the singing cigarette salesman, who covers a range from “The Old Master Painter” to “Old Man River” to the considerable delight of the Lanson set. The bill also includes the comedy of Georgia Kaye, the dancing of Lathrop and Lee and the musical novelty of Davis and Dorothy Workman. New Firm Baked Bond White Bread Made with unbleached flour.
