maneuvers with” by pilots of the Marine Air Reserve Fighter

New Strike Hits Douglas
| LONG BEACH, Calif., Sept. 12
(tP). —Douglas Aircraft Co., already
crippled by a strike of 10,000 CIO-
United Auto Workers at its Long
Beach plant September 5, was hit
today by a 269-man strike of the
independent United Aircraft Weld
ers’ Union. All three of its South
ern California plants are affected.
The welders voted 172 to 46 to
reject a wage increase offer of 10
per cent plus 10 cents an hour.
The current scale is SI.BO an hour.
