Police Official's Car A 28-year-old man today was charged with failure .to give full time and attention to his driving after he reportedly sideswiped the car of Inspector Robert S. Bryant, assistant superintendent of police. Police said Inspector Bryant’s: police car was parked on Ninth I street north of Massachusetts! avenue N.W. when it was brushed by a car driven by John O. Harris i of the 4300 block of Albemarle street N.W. at 6:30 am. today. Harris, who police said is self* employed In the trucking business, | had been up all night and was “fatigued.” according to the re port. Damage was estimated at $125 for the police car and SSO for Harris’ car. Neither man was hurt. | Child Struck by Bus. In an accident yesterday, a 5-year-old boy suffered leg in juries when he was struck by a private school bus while playing in an alley, police reported. Police this morning had not' identified the driver of the back ing bus which struck John W. Whelan of 2118 P street N.W., in an alley behind his home. They said the driver took the child to his home. The boy then was taken to Georgetown University Hospital. Woman’s Car Hits Pole. A Federal Bureau of Investi gation clerk. Frances M. Elrod. ; 28, of 328 Farragut street N.W., ; was taken to Georgetown Hos pital with head injuries last night after the car she was driving swerved into a light pole and a stone wall in the 3800 block of Canal road, according to police. A Corporation Counsel’s hear ing was scheduled May 5 on the accident, in which a light pole was broken and S3OO damage done to the car, police said. The car apparently swerved over a small island in the middle of the road.
