Nation's Boys' Clubs
To Be Honored in
Programs This Week
Boys will be boys and get
credit for it during National
Boys’ Club Week which starts
tomorrow.
Open house and special daily
programs will be conducted at
the Eastern and Western
branches of the Boys’ Clubs of
America. The public is invited
to visit the club houses from 3 to
9 p.m. Monday through Friday.
National Boys Club Week and
the Boys’ Clubs of America have
been indorsed by President Eis
enhower. In a letter to William
Edwin Hall, president of the
Boys' Clubs of America, the
President declared: “With real
appreciation of your outstanding
work, I am happy to send my
greetings and congratulations to
the Boys’ Clubs of America.
“The work you are doing goes
far beyond the provision of
sports and championship. Lead
ers, giving unselfishly of their
time and energy are teaching
these boys the truth that the
ancient precepts of honesty, of
respect for the rights of others,
and of free and imaginative in
itiative are values of concrete
purpose and daily application.’’
For the sixth straight year, the
America Junior Citizenship
Award will be presented to the
“Boy of the Year” from out
standing Boys’ Club members.
The recipient will be awarded a
wrist watch and will spend two
weeks on a Colorado ranch.
