GU Military Day
To Honor Allies
Fighting in Korea
Georgetown University’s ROTC
units will hold their annual Mili
tary Day next Thursday In honor
of Allied fighting troops in
Korea.
Military attaches from every
nation with combat troops in
Korea will be on hand.
Military Day, which is held
each spring at the university, is
sponsored jointly by Army and
Air ROTC units.
The day’s events will include
drill competitions, exhibitions of
weapons and equipment, award
ing trophies and honors, and a
final parade and review.

supplied by the Department of
Defense. The Air Force will sup
ply several of the latest type jet
planes for display.
The program will open at 10
a.m. with tours of the military
exhibits near McDonough Gym
nasium.
At 1:30 p.m., a competitive
drill will be held on the varsity
field. Exhibitions by a drill team
and Air Force Drum and Bugle
Corps will follow.
ROTC Parade.
A joint Army-Air Force ROTC
parade, with presentation of
awards, will be held at 3 p.m. A
formal retreat ceremony will be
conducted at 4:50 p.m., with a
reception at 5 p.m.
Maj. Gen. Hugh M. Milton,
who heads the Reserve and
ROTC affairs for the Army, will
speak at 9:30 p.m. in the gym
nasium, following a concert by
the Army field band.
Bar Association Holds
Spring Outing May 25
The District Bar Association
will hold an all-day spring out
ing on May 25 at the Congres
sional Country Club. Supreme
Court justices, all judges In oth
er District courts and Govern
ment officials will be invited.
Golf, tennis, soft ball and
horse shoes will be available.
There will be a tug of war be
tween a team of assistant cor
poration counsels and district
attorneys and a team of lawyers.
