DECEMBER S. 1953 Mackin High Has New Hopes Despite Handicaps of Quintet By Bob Hanson Mackin High School opens its basketball season at 3:30 p.m. Monday against Anacostia High at Anacostia and there is no place it can go but up. Loser of all 17 of its games last year, the school has sched uled one game less this season under its new coach, Don Hil lock, who is hopeful of better results. "It's a cinch we can do no worse,” the youthful coach said. "The team will be made ijp of about 12 players out of an origi nal 20 who reported for prac tice. The plan is to use all of them at one time or another dur ing the games in order to give them the needed experience. We figure to lose quite a few games by doing this but then again we also should win a few.” Mackin, a member of the Catholic League the last two years, played under the name of Day After Day The Star Is the Dominant Classified Advertising Medium in Washington SPECIAL NOTICES BUTOVA WATCHES. discount ARTHUR MARKEL 940 P st. n.w I WILL NOT BE responsible for any debts other than those contracted by myself.
