Gallagher It to important to know that while age to vital in collecting monthly benefits, it has no bear ing on the earning of social security Credits. The boy whe delivers your paper and the old gentleman who runs the “fix it” shop in the neighborhood both come under the same regu lation in respect to paying tax and earning credits for bene fits. Some people oppose the plan of paying full benefits to older peo ple who have paid into social security for but 18 months. These people overlook the fact that one owner may insure his car today and tomorrow have a wreck and collect his insurance, while an other may pay the same pre mium for years and never col lect a penny. Some younger insured persons complain that they must pay in for years before drawing bene fits. They forget that a young person in his (or her) Junior years can work under covered employment tor only 18 months and in the event of his death leave a dependent, parent, or parents, who may draw benefits lor years on this young person’s earned social security credits.
