7,095 Drivers Cut Off Under Point System The District's point system for moving traffic violations marked Its second anniversary thisi month by tallying a total of 7,095 permit reyocations and suspen sions over the period. The figure, however, is 95 less than the total of 8,155 suspen sions and revocations in the two years immediately preceding under the former Board of Re vocations and Restorations of Operator’s Permits. Since creation of the system, 3.748 permits were revoked for amassing 12 demerits or move and 3.347 had their licenses! suspended when they reached 8 ; points. In the past week, 29 permits were revoked and 47 were sus pended. Os those revoked 17 were for driving while drunk and 12 for an accumulation of 12 points. Os the 47 suspended, 33 were for having 8 points, 10 for failure to satisy judgements, three for failure to file insurance and one for driving while drunk.
